HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVES
PROJECT 1: DESIGN ERA RESPONSES
The bulk of our time in Historical Perspectives was spent reading and absorbing our textbook, Eskilson's Graphic Design: A New History. Each week, we were expected to read a chapter of the book, and then to prepare a visual response inspired by the design trends of the period we had read about. Each response was to be based on an article in the news we had read from the previous 7 days.

Our final deliverable was a set of 11 graphics posted to Instagram, accompanied by a detailed written analysis of each week's chapter in the caption. These posts were completed on a weekly basis throughout the first 12 weeks of the semester.
PROCESS
A bulk of my inspiration was found within the pages of our textbook, which was full of examples of design at the time. Some graphics pretty closely mimicked historical pieces, while others borrowed more generalized aspects of the trends. Below are a few examples of my inspiration accompanying the finished graphic.
